CHRISTINE’ STORY

Christine Cloutier, a French native from Quebec's Gaspe Peninsula, has been residing in Kelowna since 2003.

Her artistic journey began amidst the rhythms and melodies of her childhood home, where her father, a passionate lead singer and drummer, fostered a love for music. Early experiences of performing with him and singing into a microphone sparked her initial passion for creative expression.

A personal crisis during her teenage years led Christine to set aside her musical pursuits. However, after years of marriage, she rediscovered her love for music and began honing her vocal skills. Performing with a semi-professional gospel choir in Montreal and recording a single, Christine continued her search for a deeper artistic connection.

In 2001, Christine's life took a transformative turn when she discovered art therapy. The expressive act of painting provided a powerful means of reconnecting with past experiences and emotions, leading to profound healing and self-understanding.

This newfound passion for abstract painting quickly evolved from a personal journey into a mission to share her art and its messages with others.

Following the sale of her floor retail family business in 2008, Christine fully embraced abstract painting, relying on self-directed learning and colour theory classes to refine her craft.

As a self-taught artist and artrepreneur, she explores new techniques and experiments with colours and textures, guided by her intuitive creativity. Christine's preference for abstract painting reflects her belief in letting go of control to produce something greater than herself.

Through abstract art, she embraces ambiguity and trusts the journey, paralleling her spiritual journey with God.

She invites you to join her on this artistic adventure, where each stroke of paint is a step towards deeper self-discovery and connection.
